Volunteers wanted in Uckfield!

Do you have a few hours spare each week? Would you like to get involved in a fun, exciting new project where your help would have a really positive impact on a group of older people? Then read on…

Care Sussex is recruiting a team of enthusiastic volunteers to run a variety of activities for our residents at Margaret House in Uckfield. Margaret House is an extra care scheme for people aged 60 and over and we are really keen to get a fun, varied programme of regular activities running there – as requested by the residents themselves! We are looking for volunteers for a range of roles; to lead activities, companions to support residents to take part in activities, to drive an adapted minibus and to drive their own car to take residents out on trips.

If you have a special interest or skill and would be happy to lead a regular activity session then we’d love to hear from you. Anyone with a talent in knitting, crochet, music or baking will be in high demand! Or perhaps you’re a people person and would be happy to host a weekly coffee morning, run a quiz or a bingo session? We are also looking for drivers – either to drive a hired minibus or your own car – to take residents out and about.

If you are caring, friendly and would like to make an Older Person’s day, please get in touch. To find out more, please email volunteering@autismsussex.org.uk, stating which role you are interested in:
