After a decade of steady growth, the annual Uckfield Art Trail is undergoing big changes. At the beginning of this year the group separated from the Uckfield Festival and is now completely independent, renaming themselves Bridge Arts in Uckfield. This move will enable group members to exhibit not only during the Uckfield Festival week, but also at other exhibitions and cultural events during the year.
Some things however will remain the same. There will still be the two-day art fair held on the final weekend of the Uckfield Festival, traditionally drawing many visitors to the town.
Talented artists and craft makers from Uckfield and the surrounding area will be showcasing their work on the ground floor of the Civic Centre, conveniently located by the central Luxford and Tescos car parks. The Bridge Arts Fair is Friday 15th July, 3pm-9pm, including press launch from 7:30pm, and Saturday 16th July, 10am-5pm. Organisers are expecting record visitor numbers this year, building on ten years of previous successful events.
Bridge Arts welcomes all artists and craft makers who wish to attend, whether professional or talented amateurs. Applications with payment, £55 per individual or £125 per group, are accepted until May 18th. Registration forms can be downloaded from www.bridge-arts.org/artist-information or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Participants in the Art Fair will be promoted through the website www.bridge-arts.org, Facebook page Bridge Arts in Uckfield and a glossy full-colour event programme containing biographies and images of work, plus publicity across regional publications and radio.
The Art Fair has always had great encouragement and financial support from individuals and the business community. This year Bridge Arts in Uckfield will again widely promote their sponsors across the web and social media, in print and at the exhibition.
